Spoiler for unnecessary rant...

- I have problems with books. I want to read a book where the main character is trying to overcome social anxiety, but all the ones I see, turns into romance.
C'mon, I need something where they're not trying to talk to this guy and be his girlfriend. I need one where they're legitly trying so hard to overcome it. Because once I find out that it turns into romance, I feel like they're saying that having a crush that you're scared to talk to is social anxiety and that is NOT what it is. Social anxiety is not fixed by talking to a single person. Like, there's this book called Finding Audrey where basically one guy fixed her social anxiety. Like, "Hey! It's magic!" Because I can talk to only one person and have all my anxieties over talking to people be a thing of the past.
Like, here, I'll put the excerpt from the book in yet another spoiler:

- has been making slow but steady progress with Dr. Sarah, but when Audrey meets Linus, her brother’s gaming teammate, she is energized. She connects with him. Audrey can talk through her fears with Linus in a way she’s never been able to do with anyone before. As their friendship deepens and her recovery gains momentum, a sweet romantic connection develops, one that helps not just Audrey but also her entire family.

- The bold, that does not happen to someone with anxiety. You don't look at a person you never met and be like "He's the catalyst, he fixes my anxieties. I can talk to him, and only him, with no problems at all." Now I'm more apt into actually writing the story I want to read.
Seriously, romance is not necessary in a story that's supposed to be about one overcoming their anxiety.
Yeah, sorry about the rant, it's just something that frustrates me. Well, I think I'm back in the writing mood FINALLY! Better work on that story I'd rather read.
