very busy because it is the holiday season but after Christmas it should quiet down and I can actually get 2 days in a row off... one of the drawbacks of not being independently wealthy (or in school) is that you have to work so hard at someone else's bidding so that you can afford to live. I like my customers though and they bring us treats during the holiday so there are some perks.

Do you have a favorite tradition or holiday food for this time of year?

That sounds rough. I hope you get a break soon, sounds like you deserve it!
My Nona (Grandma) usually makes biscuits and i helped with my mum making shortbread the other day. I leave the baking to her and just help with the icing and decorating.

AliCat: Homemade shortbread is one of my favorites! Do you make yours with butter or lard or margarine? Do you use flour or icing (powder) sugar or brown sugar for the ingredients? (Different countries tend to use certain ingredients).

Decorating the cookies is so much fun! (And so messy)

But I do like my shortbread plain with no icing so that I get the full flavor.

We used to do a lot of baking during Christmas, but not anymore.

Cherry squares? I'm personally not a huge fan of cherries but they do sound nice...

are cherry squares like the coconut squares with candied cherries on the top or more like a date square or crisp?

I'm not a fan of cherries either, but I like cherry squares.
