LEMON!!! Your avatar is so cute!

Well my last day was in the last of May. I had put in my 2 weeks. I wanted to keep going but that job, the pressure was affecting my health and one of my coworkers made a comment that really hurt my feelings and the manager didn't really help.

So I've been applying and I got a job at a Victoria's Secret. I start October 7th. It's seasonal work but the person who had interviewed me said that sometimes the seasonal employees became permanent if they did a good job. It's a bit farther than my previous job but I make a whole dollar more the hour which isn't much but it's still better I guess?

ALSO on the 25th I was in LA at the hospital getting a liver biopsy and a catheterization or however you spell it. So I am currently in recovery mode.

oh no JinMay I am so sorry to hear you were in the hospital!

Stress can have a very negative affect on our health so better you got out of the job but I am proud of you for giving it a go! You don't know until you try & at the least you know what you don't want.

Starting part time & becoming permanent is how I got my job, you get to see whether you like it or not & get paid & not feel bad if they offer permanent but you decide you don't want to. .

Costco is also a great place for that to happen too. My old boss retired but decided he missed working so he got on seasonal at Costco & then a position came open 7 he took it. He works 20 or so hours a week but has medical & other benefits included. He could work more if he wanted to.

And if you can get on at a place/store that has other offices or stores you can sometimes transfer. Or work your way up to management if you want that kind of thing. I had a friend who worked Victoria secret long time ago & she got discounts which is nice. A dollar more to start & less stress sounds better to me.

Make sure you get your blood work done. I know it sounds scary but sometimes a change in diet - and yes sometimes a strict change- can correct the health issues. I hope you are getting good medical care. If you do have health issues with the liver, you may qualify for disability until you are well. Don't be discouraged, there is help out there. I will keep you in my prayers for answers & proper treatment.

I'm a little nervous but I'm gonna do my best. I agree with you that a temp job is a good idea because I was thinking the same thing. I could see if I like it or not. If I don't, at least I know it's not permanent. And if I do, well at least I'll enjoy it while I can.

I've been told that we get freebies every month and we do get discounts as well. So that's pretty nice.
My first day is Oct 7th from 11am to 2:30pm. I was told to wear all black. Which is fine with me.

I'm taking care of myself the best I can. I've changed the dressing on the punctures already but today they weren't bleeding at all after my shower so I'm leaving them uncovered. I only put some gauze and some gauze tape over it to keep it down on a blister which is really what hurts the most. I am walking a bit more upright today but I still get tired somewhat easily but I do need to walk around daily, that's what the nurse told me and the doctor is going to call me on the 2nd of October to let me know the results of the procedures.

I've been part time for over 5 years, and I've seen some Temps leave and some stay, so it's definitely good to at least have one foot in the door, and if it doesn't work out, at least you didn't commit fully!

Also I hope the recovery goes smoothly!

JinMay see if you can bring a person into the appointment with you, it is always good to have a second set of ears. And if you cannot, see if you can record the session so you can play it back later.

Until you get the results you can't really research treatments.
Did they suspect anything in particular to have ordered the liver biopsy - like irregularities in blood work, or autoimmune issues or other symptoms?

I hear the pressure from those biopsies is kind of intense, I am sorry you have had to have gone through it but good to find out what is going on with your body.

npixelz Yeah that's what I like about temp work, you can get a feel for if you like it or don't and if you don't like it then you know it's only temporary. I'm a little nervous but I'm going to do the best I can. I'm thankful for the opportunity given to me.

Thank you! I'm still a little sore and bruised up but the bruises are healing. Slowly but they're healing.

@Lemon Cheesecake Ooh good idea! I'll make a note of that.

They said that my heart condition can cause liver problems in the long run. So they just wanted to check and see if my liver is healthy or if it is starting to have any issues that they can treat before it gets worse.

It was so painful, I cried so much that day honestly and it was rough not having my parents with me there because they needed to wait in the waiting room. My mom actually stayed home because she was told she had a doctor appointment that day so my dad was the one who came with me. But then my mom found out her appointment had been rescheduled for a later date. Sucks that she couldn't be there.

JinMay, Not being in the waiting room maybe kept your Mom healthier & at least you had your Dad near by.

You can feel comfort knowing she wanted to be there for you.

Its ok to cry, especially when something hurts!

I hope the liver biopsy is a once & done & not have to do again.
Wouldn't your blood tests be an indicator if something was going on? Ask the Doctor at your appointment, maybe there is another way to check now that they have a baseline for your liver.

Wow, I am even more impressed by your determination to work, especially when you have complicated health issues you are battling More people should be like you!
