I am going to go insane with my work. When I thought I finally get to not close, I actually get scheduled to work 11 ducking hours and I can't handle this. They KNOW I'm a student. And then I have to go home on the 24th for Thanksgiving break but they have me working until 3 in the morning and II just want to cry . Yes, I am going to talk to them about it, especially the day before I go home on break. Darn University has to have us leave at freaking 10 am and they don't realize some people have on campus jobs and some don't get back til real late and they'd like some sleep.

ya, I would just let work know you have no access to your dorms and no other place to stay... I am surprised your work is still open over Thanksgiving while the campus is closed... unless someone messed up with the schedule and forgot they were supposed to be closed for the holiday (like on breaks?).

What would happen if you stayed quiet and left your dorms after the 10 am time? Do they lock the main doors? Normally you can leave - just can't get back in.

They aren't. I just work 11 hours the day before, ending at 3 in the morning the day I have to go home. And I have to be out by 10 am. They know that the university closes, they're a food court on campus. But I wonder if they forget that I'm a student though it says on my schedule that I'm a student worker. This is just cruel. I usually go in at 6pm to 3am, but now, this work week is 4pm to 3am. My stress is already through the roof, I can't even anymore. I can't handle the stress on my end anymore.

11 hours? Law over here is you get double overtime over 10 hours of daily work. Hope they are paying you overtime!

idk what its like for monkey~ but we have the same thing, and what they do for us is they give us an hour of unpaid lunch, so youre stuck at work for 11 hours still, but they dont have to pay you penalty rates T_T

Ah, I get it...the hour of lunch makes it 11 hours... ya, they do that here too where after 6 hours they are required to give you a half hour unpaid lunch but I think we can get 2 paid 10 min coffee breaks...if you are on a time clock where you have to punch in then I find they HAVE to be strict about the breaks or the employer runs the risk of hefty penalty fines.

They're really pushing it. They actually aren't supposed to work students over 8 hours as I learned last night. >-<

3 days a week was a good move, 11 hours is going to kill me. Like I'm not already stressed out enough as it is.

unfortunately, sometimes if you complain they put you on shift work which means you have to come in then go home for a couple hours and then come back in again, which sucks. I'd rather work and be done.
