So yeah, try to be nice, try to polite. It might not always work, and you might not always be able to, but trying is better than just being mean for no good reason. But when it comes to kindness, that's one thing that you should always strive for, imo

That's an interesting quote to have remembered, Npix, I love it!

I think politeness as being civil, and kindness is going beyond that to intentionally make an effort to be thoughtful/helpful/positive/understanding/patient etc.

Yeah, I was watching some Doctor Who videos earlier this week, and had heard the quote so it sprang to mind!
Agreed! And I believe if more people were kind (instead of being only polite, tho of course it's good to be polite as well) then the world would be a better place

I wish more people were a good example of portraying kindness more often.

I know sometimes I have to work at conscientiously trying to show kindness... sometimes it is easy, like being kind back to someone... but the important lessons & character building come when we have to make that effort to be kind when we don't feel like it.

Agreed! It's easy to be kind when shown kindness, but showing kindness despite not receiving it is tricky, but also shows how good you are, and (imo) often feels all the more rewarding (when it works)

I was supposed to work but my coworker is taking off next week so we swapped days.
