I read those rainbow fairy books when in 2nd/3rd grade! They were all the rage at school haha. Although, I don't really remember what happened in any of them now. Disney fairy/Neverland books on the other hand, I got that stuff down! (Loved the books, hated the movies.) Did you read any of those?

My family still sings songs from Barbie: Princess and the Pauper, which is the best Barbie movie. I recently watched the first three movies with my boyfriend too. When I was younger I made a series of stop motion animations using my Barbie dolls, which my friends deemed "Bardy Cinemas".

I have an easier time identifying things I dislike than things I like, so I'll need some more time to think about that. I'm not really sure what's considered weird for me to like either.

Pants were considered barbaric since they were worn by the barbarians. Only citizens were allowed to wear toga. If I remember correctly, women wore stola and couldn't become citizens.

Pants can be too tight/have no stretch and rip. The most freedom is to wear no pants at all!

Yeah, I loved them. Though I tried to hide it. Same, I don't remember much either. Never read any Disney/Neverland books.
That's a good one. Aww, that's cute that you made animation with them.
Makes sense.
Oh really? I didn't know.
Yeah, that's what I thought, too, but I guess skirts also have problems. True true.

Well if you ever feel like reading about the daily life of a fairy or one who's having an existential crises, pick one up. :D Although my favourite of the fairy books was the trilogy about saving Neverland. The first book of that is Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg.

It's easy to get tangled in and trip on long skirts. They also drag on the ground and get dirty.

Rainbow fairies?

There's one small series I had most of the books to, had to get them all secondhand, i forget the exact title but there's this kingdom, has four princesses who are about 8-12. And a bad guy. Because of course it does. 12 regular books (or maybe just 8), four specials (two princesses involved, I don't remember the deets of these tho), 1 super special (all four). All withing 100 pages. So these princesses each get a gem and a quadrant of the kingdom to run. I don't remember their names. I do the gems tho. Each princess gets a tiara with a gem from the main crown, and the crown and gems are powerful. Bad guy wants it
Ruby's a tomboy and doesn't want to rule. Her region iirc is very mountainous. She's the first book, so we get to see the coronation at the end of hers. She runs off, meets a dragon, who gives her a shield that, with a phrase, lets her turn invisible. She's eventually convinced to go back to the castle when she discovers an imposter learned of her absence and is gonna try for it herself. Said imposter turns out to be bad guy's daughter. She's foiled between acting wrong and not having the gem birthmark. Ruby princess also has one at her castle where there's a ghost causing trouble. Once again, bad guy's daughter. Only she ended up making a mistake here by knocking down a portrait of a previous princess of long ago. That princess comes back as a ghost and scares fake ghost away as revenge. Ruby's always a tomboy, and almost the leader of the group
Sapphire's domain is very water-oriented. She's the youngest, as I recall. She's also the only blonde of the four sisters, the other three being brunettes. I don't remember her stories or special item oops
Emerald's got a forest area, a unicorn companion, and a pan flute that she can use once every 12 hours. Sunrise and sunset. Iirc lowest note lets her become tiny and highest large. May or may not be accurate. She's a prankster, which causes the people to hate her, especially after she accidentally destroys things. Not all-important things, thankfully, but still enough to annoy the people. She learns this, finds out that traps to catch the people exist, and one of the people she's pranked doesn't believe her until she sets one off in front of him. Then, as she's being monologued by a bad person (not main baddie or his kid, I think), sunset and bam, largest size. Scares baddie off, finds more traps like this, and then realizes that she's stuck giant overnight. Oops. Second one she and her unicorn buddy get punished for frivolous use of unicorn's magic, he loses it. So, she goes to find the unicorn government. Yeah. They can't help directly, because there's the rules, and at the end by doing an entirely unrelated thing planned with her sisters, unicorn gets his magic back. Lmao
Diamond's the oldest. She has a permanently winter region. She has a mirror that she can use three times a day to scry. First one she has to find and rescue someone for a carnival/parade/event thing. She's not stupid with her scrying, thankfully, and scries useful things. Hell, one time her scry is at the other's request. Oh and this other is a bear. Because animals can talk. Her other one, her mirror gets a new ability, to change places with a blonde chick who lives in a mirror world. That world doesn't have the kingdom, or the baddie, but everyone's isolated and live in bitty communities. Shenanigans ensue, the girl's brother eventually realizes the truth, and helps Diamond get back to her world
The specials, as I said, I don't remember. Now that I think about it, I can't remember if there even were specials
The super special, the bird advisor summons the princesses while the king and queen are out. The crown's been stolen, and they're the best bet to get the crown back. So, they check it out, their tiaras glow in response to where the crown was, yadayadayada, hey baddie got it somehow. I think he had his kid swipe it. So, off the four go to rescue it before their parents find out. They end up caught, baddie has crown and them tied up. He puts on crown, gets mad at his daughter because why is the power missing what did you do. She's panicking because unlike her dad, she doesn't know anything's missing
The princesses, tied up together in a circle, work together to get the pan flute into place for use. Lowest note, largest size, they burst free of the ropes. The bad duo (or possibly bad guy and suckered daughter) panic because suddenly them big. Turns out four gems are missing: the four on the tiaras. The gems glow, and as the four get in range, the baddie and his kid are destroyed. They go home, parents never find out, the end

I still can't remember their names. Wtf

A few times in the series i'm reading there's a mention of fairy like characters called the Little People. They leave gifts for the main character when she's out and about in the forest areas of the book's world. I thought that was interesting
