I had library access, then we moved and to get a library card, I would have to pay $30 because the address is out of city limits. LIKE WHAT THE HELL!

I've never heard of the library charging dragoness! That is outrageous! I guess I am fortunate to have always lived within library radius. I guess you could go read at the library if you needed to hang out in town sometime.... or used book store or book sales I guess.

Yes, it is outrageous.
There are a lot of yardsales up here with good books. Gonna have to save up and go to some like when I was little.

when I lived in the city we had a used bookstore where you brought your books and then could use the credit to get other books, not sure if there is anything like that around

That is so odd! i've never heard of a library charging.... I literally live 4 hours away from the library I'm registered at and just check out books through overdrive. I thought the whole point of a public library was to get books to the public without cost...

If you are talking to me, please ping or quote me. I get distracted and lose track of what I'm doing easily.

I know! I might have to check out the other library in a different city. T_T
That was really discouraging though.
I went to the bookstore today and saw that the third volume of a series I was reading is out! Now I really wanna check it out to read!
