"Tea and crumpets" was a common ritual for the British that evolved into an invitation to visit. Like "Oh, we must have you over for tea and crumpets." (I'm guessing it may not be used much anymore, but I'm not British so I wouldn't know.) Anyways, my understanding is that means "tea and biscuits" where "biscuits" are what Americans call cookies. ie. crumpets are British cookies.

...or maybe not... LOL

Oh, I'm so American, lol.
But seriously, dunking anything in tea doesn't sound good at all.

I had a time when I was drinking green tea. I've had tea with honey to soothe my throat too. Lemon tea, I think?

I like (very) sweet black tea, my favorite is Bigelow's Vanilla Caramel Black Tea.

you know, if I think about it, it wouldn't surprise me if dunking in tea probably started from having stale, dried out biscuits that you were trying to soften! Ha, ha would be just like me to pick up such a habit. I like to dunk toast in soup too and my ancestors were mostly farmers. Would make sense.

Now, I'm not an oreo dunker in milk. I only dunk in hot drinks. If you dunk in hot it dissolves, if you dunk in cold it just gets lumpy.

I like dunking cookies into milk but I don't like when it crumbles into the glass.

I like it because it makes the milk taste chocolatier.

You probably like Oreo shakes then...I don't like lumps in my ice cream either

and I only like when crackers get mushy in my soup, not when they stay crisp. I'll dunk a crisp cracker in soup though...ok, so I guess I'm...eccentric...

Ew, mushy crackers.
I used to put crackers in my chili but I don't like doing that any more.

I love oreo milkshakes!

Oreo milkshakes are very popular... I am more of just a flavored milkshake person ( not chocolate though because it reminds me of medicine I use to have as a young kid). My favorite is black licorice milkshake but that is extremely hard to find.
