Cool cool. I'm not super active or anything but seems the last places I posted aren't so alive anymore.

It's newer I do believe, but it's about the situation in Selma (a city) during the Civil Rights movement. Has to do with the movement that MLK was leading and the right for African American's to vote. All that real world history stuff that makes your heart ache because it's real and those were real people getting beaten in the streets.

sad to think there are STILL places in the world where human life is devalued and where the right thing to do is not supported.

I never understood the whole segregation thing - how could you have people living in your homes, touching your belongings ( by cleaning, pressing, sorting, arranging etc) cooking your food ( touching, tasting, serving) and YET you can't eat in the same restaurant? You can't drink out of the same fountain? They can't try on the same clothes? You can have some one nurse and raise you but you can't sit next to them and share a meal? I could go on...I find it very frustrating.

I don't understand it either. I'm glad we're not living that way here anymore but it is a sad part of our past.
What bothers me is that there are people in other parts of the world still living a demeaning life and even worse things.

especially the "child brides" makes me sick! That one girl who wanted to run away and had her nose and I think her ears sliced off!?!? For cultures that have been around for thousands of years why are they still so suppressive, oppressive, demoralizing ?

When I hear of the things going on in other cultures/countries it makes me that more appreciative that I was raised with choices and options and freedoms. I suppose that's why I also get upset when I think people seem to be abusing their freedoms.
