Growing up we made a lot of leftover soup. But co-mingling flavors makes it very tasty!

Balcan, I like to chat on the game threads too, sometimes I just like to do silly chatter to lighten the day.

Welcome Star!

I get it, and I'm not trying to dissuade you. You're one of a few people on here that have a lot to share and I do enjoy having a discussion with you. But there are people who almost exclusively post in game threads, listing animals in alphabetical order or counting and that's pretty dull.

Since the new games (and BTW Diana you did a wonderful job on them--can't wait to see what you come up with next!) came out, I've seen new names on the leaderboards there who have never posted. So I think posting in the game threads as a kind of a "half way house" for those who only play the games or lurk, so I'm glad they exist and are active.

But I do get your point. I have enjoyed every conversation here on Windlyn. It never ceases to amaze me how much I don't know about, well, everything. I learn something new every day and I really enjoy getting to know people from all over the world. I think it's so cool! If you don't post and exchange ideas and information, you're missing out!

Personally, I don't engage in a thread or a conversation unless I have something to gain from it - that encompasses learning something new, seeing a different perspective, seeing something that makes me laugh, or catharsis. In game threads, I don't get any of that. I don't remember names of people who don't stand out to me.

I have to admit I am usually the one who will play the games and not chat. Someone engraved in me the perils of online chatting and so Windlyn is the only site I actually chat on. Normally I will keep to myself. Play games to get my currency and buy the items I like etc.and keep to myself. But until now the only way to get currency on here has been to chat! So it is a learning curve for me personally and I have been having to reach outside of my comfort zone.
So I agree with Galled in that the game threads are a comfortable middle ground for others who are/were like me. It allows them to build their feathers in safety and hopefully once in awhile they will feel confident to post something else. But I agree, Balcan, usually I steer towards activities that I can gain something from so that my time is more effectively used, my mind stimulated and relationships broadened.

Although I wouldn't say I'm adventurous in real life, I don't mind trying to stoke a conversation here even though I might not have anything to add to see where it might go in the quest for learning new interesting things. I can only speak personally about game threads that promote interaction (the users post above yours leads into your response and the next person must post something related to my post etc.) are kind of an ice breaker. If there's a longer game exchange between myself and another member, I feel more comfortable with that person and might join a conversation with them if I saw them in another non-game thread.

That said, it really would be wonderful to figure out what might help promote more discussion and conversation about things. There's room for everyone--what I love about Windlyn is it's a safe, friendly place to interact as much as I please. :)

I'd like to know that too Galled. I've tried different threads and so far my game threads are the most active.

Star: the teddy bears are from the most recent Carnivale event we just had. I will try to remember to put them on your prize win list. Monkeygirl18 and a few others are selling some though, check out their yard sale threads.

aww dragoness is back on! Don't forget to enter an item design in the Project Summerway contest.
Someone did the cave back ground once...they should enter it !
I have an idea but not quite sure how to draw it. This is how we got the obun and apron dresses and bear ears!

I know we have some creative people here so here's your chance!!

We only have until May 20th to enter the item design contest!!

I'm going to design something too. The selection for guys is a bit lacking compared to what the ladies get. That event name annoys me though. Project Summerway is so lazy with substituting "summer" for "runway".
