My mom and dad we're busy bees preparing some meals for our New Year's eve celebrations tonight

I'll help my dad grill some pork and shrimps in a bit.

It's almost 6 hours to go before we welcome 2016!

I live less than two hours away. I could spend New Years with them or my friend that lives near them but it's too late for that.

but Monkey - you are always on in the middle of the night - well, over here we can watch the New York count down at nine our time and go to bed early if we want! Either way it is a new year somewhere in the world.

Do all countries do fireworks or a "ball drop" or special countdown to mark the end of one year and the start of another?

I normally do, but I have this headache that won't go away and all the noise and light from the tv will make it worse. I have dimmed my computer screen all the way.
I've had this headache all day and it's because I overslept this morning.

Iam sad to hear you have light sensitivity with your head ache. Hope you aren't coming down with a cold, I had a head ache and now ear aches with sinus pressure...but a couple advil have helped and I am taking a nasal decongestant every 4 hours as well as an antihistamine daily. I hate spraying the flonase up my nose but I may just get desperate enough (if it isn't too late).
