they are true vegans! but they're also kind of cbf about it since they're mainly doing it for ethical reasons and not religious or health ones being vegan isn't that bad when you know how to cook to be honest, it's super easy in HK since soybean milk and rice based meals are common so cheese and other dairy things aren't a complete necessity! some people have lactose intolerance or have skin problems associated to milk so that's another reason for doing it too~ i probably can't live as a vegan but eating like them once in a while isn't so bad C:
yea i totally agree that we're really detached from the act of killing animals for food, we just see meat on a plate and go like "yay chicken" >_>;; but that is the life of mass production
Speaking of it being really easy to be vegan in HK- HKer's diets are something I envy. Alot of you guys have really nice skin cos of the stuff you eat. Like seafood/veggies mostly? The stuff you have is bland but yummy. Here in Malaysia, foodie paradise, you'd be lucky to not be getting a new pimple every other day
Desserts are still fine!! THEY'RE LIKE A REALLY SMALL PORTION OF WHAT YOU EAT... Omg malaysian food though. If you ever get to travel to us, Lem, I'd love to take you around on a foodie trip!!!! LIKE OUR DESSERTS ARE SUPER GOOD AS WELL WE HAVE STUFF LIKE.. ice kacang, cendol, pisang goreng, kuih, apam balik, roti tisu, sago gula melaka.... ///vibrates happily

Okay, I don't really understand what is roti. I tried to google it after I had some, but it wasn't really that helpful. More about the flatbread than the dessert? Are they different?
I got to try some super delicious roti when I went to visit DC! It reminded me of a waffle made of rice flour or something... Kind of transparent, a little chewy and crunchy all at the same time. I asked the waitress what it was but I couldn't understand her three times and I ended up just ordering it lol.
That cafe was amazing! I will post some (blurry, oops my bad) pictures later. Maybe you know what the desserts are that I didn't? lol
okay okay so: Diana Roti just means bread, and there are tooonsss of different kinds of roti we have. When we talk about roti we usually mean the flatbread kind, but roti literally just means bread so it can refer to buns/loafs and other stuff as well!
is it just me but why does roti look like 蔥油餅 i've never seen it in my life but it kind of looks like a flat pancake Diana omg please post pics!! i like seeing what cafes look like around the world
cyb is more of a savoury pancake. roti is bread. it's just bread!! i could bring you to try it in SG but i will say, SG mamak is a sad impersonation of the ones we have in MY.. so it wouldn't be the tastiest hahah
