dragoness: if you think your teeth are aching because of a cavity there is some temporary filling material you can get at Kmart/Walmart. It has the texture kind of like silly putty but is white. Brush your teeth and then put that in the hole, it sometimes can "soothe" the tooth until you can get it repaired. However, if the pulp has become infected then if you seal the hole you could end up with an absess because the gases can't get out.
If your teeth are aching because the enamel has gotten thin then avoid sour and acidic food ( no sour gummys no lemon no vinegar etc) or vomiting, AND get some fluoride mouth rinse or sensodyne tooothpaste. Brush your teeth with the sensodyne ( not the whitening kind) then rub it over your teeth and leave it on overnight. It takes about a week for the fluoride in the toothpaste to desensitize the teeth.
If you are having sinus problems that can also cause your teeth to ache because the inflammed sinus puts pressure on the nerves that run to your teeth and clenching your teeth can also affect the nerves. For clenching you can try a mouth guard like they use for sports.
If you can, take some anti inflammatory like ibuprophen at night. If your teeth hurt more when laying down then it is possible that your pulp in your tooth has been infected. Also stay away from extreme temperatures in your mouth or going from one to the other as it will affect your nerves in your teeth.
Good luck, oral pain can be quite debilitating.
