I have now learned that next Saturday, one of my coworkers is moving to a new job

Bad.
I can get into conversations with the others, but one guy doesn't really listen, and one girl doesn't really get into the conversation that much. But the girl who's leaving always listens and gets into it, even though she doesn't really know much about most of the things I talk about.
Her value isn't only in conversation either, she's pretty nice and we get along well, so this is a bit of a blow.

I understand, but she's probably moving to something better, so you have to be happy for her for that. Will they hire a replacement?

She's moving to a store that is closer to where she lives. I understand, but it's still disheartening. I asked one of my supervisors about a replacement, and I think he said they don't have anyone atm

I am hoping if they do replace your coworker that you get someone just as nice to fill the position.

Do you think you might change shifts? Move to another location?

Hopefully, yeah.
I am definitely staying where I'm at. I like the night shift and the store is within walking distance.

In other news, I'm rereading The Magic Thief again, and it had me thinking.
