Even if you are expecting it a loss is still difficult. Then the loss of your family members not being close by has to have added a burden so I am very sad for you, Star.
We were discussing ways to get through a month when you are on a tight budget or options that are out there ( like food banks and community/church programs) in some other threads. Seems like there are a few of you who are really struggling. I have had those moments before -mostly as a student- praying to find some loose change on the ground so I could do laundry. Fortunately I have been able to find regular work and so long as I keep my expenses below what I make then I can save money. Most of us just work to survive but sometimes expenses are less then other times and we get a little extra tucked away.
The problem is when the unexpected pops up and it seems like everything always needs to be fixed or dealt with at the same time! I suppose having had to struggle for stuff as a kid I grew up trying to maximize anything I have - mind you probably keeping things well passed the life of the item. I don't have to have the latest stuff, just stuff that works.
And most things will come on sale or clearance eventually just watch for the sales.
Is there a chance you may move also so you are close to the rest of the family?
