You can get the prescription when you get your eyes checked and then order the lens and frames on line for about $30 versus $150-200 the optometrist office wants to charge.
These are thick framed (not the cheap wire kind) and purple/black patches around both the outside and inside. I can up and down and see a bit of purple. ^_^
So I ended up babysitting today. My s.o. is doing Uber and someone needed a ride to a job interview but also needed a babysitter. We did double duty for her. I babysat for only an hour so it wasn't bad at all. Spent half the time trying to find ways to make the little one stop crying. I put on One Piece because I thought kid-friendly anime would be fine for a baby and calm him. He barely payed any attention to the tv. But that didn't stop me from finding something else. Put Kung-fu Panda 3 on. Nothing but tears from him. He liked the playstation controllers though and that was what pacified him. The last few minutes he got fussy. Wasn't sure if he was tired or his teething gums were hurting him. Just when I seemed to calm him down again his mom returned. I wasn't sure at first if the $20 she gave me was for everything or for just me but she had given $20 to each of us. It was so quick $5 would of been fine for me but I get the impression that it was easier for her to just give two $20's then to break it into a smaller amount. S.O. had to use the bathroom before dropping her off at home and I wish I used that time to see if I had a $10 in my wallet to give back to her.
So I stayed up to babysit and now I really need to get some rest!
Watery, she was probably so relieved that she didn't mind....imagine if she couldn't have gone to the interview....although what she is going to do for childcare if she gets the job will be a whole other situation. If you consider how much a taxi costs she did alright. If it happens again you could ask her if she needed change but I think if she didn't say "all I have is a 20", she was ok with it. And it probably helped you out!
You're right tiz the season for giving. I was wondering about what she was going to do when she gets a job too. She's on her own living in a house multiple people. I don't know if any of them are willing or able to watch him when she's gone. I wouldn't be able to babysit a toddler regularly. My sleep schedule keeps shifting around it would be hard for me to watch an older kid too. My s.o. and I (I think I might start calling him by his online alias Eagle because it'd be easier to type) have talked about fostering/adopting a teenager. I'd need a nanny to help me with a baby.
I was originally thinking of having someone be a live-in nanny but now we're making one of the spare rooms into a game room so can't really do that anymore. I don't really want to have a baby anymore now.
I love the idea of fostering! I'm single and will probably be forever. But maybe when I'm in my 40s or 50s and have managed to pay off debt and find a house, I'd love to be a foster mom to youths and teens
Aw I don't know about you always being single. I think it's great that you have that as a future goal/dream. I want to have my own petting zoo but I don't think that's going to happen lol
