depression can be a life long battle but part part of overcoming the depression ( or keeping it in check) is feeling like you have at least some control in your life which helps you to feel like you aren't a mess up or letting people down (unless your depression is from missing someone but that too needs some control over the issue).

You can always try chocolate ( just kidding, but sometimes it gives you a relaxing feeling to sit and eat something you enjoyand just enjoy and be grateful in that moment)

I think its great you are recognizing you are struggling and that you are getting someone to help you talk things out and work out how you view things and have someone that can help you to make positive steps... don't get discouraged. Evaluate what steps you have in your control and what you can handle - get enough sleep, (sleep deprivation changes our perspective dramatically), eat healthy and especially stay hydrated (dehydration changes our thinking ) because these all affect our ability to handle stress.

Sadness, disappointment, frustration will always be a part of our life its how we manage it that makes the difference. Always know that when you are discouraged there will be brighter days ahead and I always remind myself that God doesn't give me more then I can handle and if I trust him that he can give me grace to handle the situation.Everyone struggles at sometime or other and we all fall short of expectations but how we react determines whether we overcome and win the battle. I hope you learn to arm your self with some skills that help you not just cope but wins some battles.

I'm glad you're seeing a consular to help you manage your depression and anxiety.
Do you keep a journal? I find it helps me sort things out. Maybe you can write about the things you need done and things you've accomplished. Any little achievement can lift your spirits.

Beta is here?!?

Don't worry about it. It's good to talk about it. Good to hear you're not sad and that you've gotten rid of negativity from your life.

No worries. Friends listen when you need to talk, and sometimes we all need to talk.

Here's something that I've found to be very useful: Science knows that being happy can make you smile, but we also know that forcing a smile can cause your brain to generate happiness chemistry. The body-mind connection is a two-way street. When you understand this idea, the world changes for you.

So another way to look at it is you're not hiding anything, but training your mind and body to be and feel better. Call is positive energy, flow of nature, the force! (LOL), whatever. We control a lot more of who we are and how we feel than many believe or realize .

At any measure, we're happy that you're happy! :)

trying to look on the bright side and keep a positive attitude, I saw a thread for that. Understanding from friends and family is important too, I hope you have that. This site certainly seems to have a lot of positivity, which should be enough to make any one smile!
