You can always play off a gift like that it just smells really good, or it reminded you of your sister so you are giving it to her. lol.

People give me scented things like candles or hand lotion, I dont think that is offensive... or maybe I should be offended! is this a hint? :o

xDD Nah, those are more generic gifts... car freshener to someone whose car you ride a ton... that's a very direct hint xD

actually if you did play it off like ..."I'm so excited, I found this car freshener that smells exactly like gardenia's, here smell it..." open it when you are in the car and leave it in there...

another alternative is the commercial for Febreeze says it eliminates odors and they show people sitting blind folded in a car full of garbage not knowing that it really stinks. Now I am not a fan of the Febreeze smells but some people are ok with it. You can always volunteer to clean te car and use some while you are at it. But there is also car carpet cleaner you can use on car seats that really helps.

We have a this doggie seat cover for the back of our car. I'm not sure how much it helps with the odor but it does protect the back seats.

I think an air freshener would be a good stocking stuffer for Christmas. You could also play it off as a gag gift for a birthday and then give another present.
Helping someone clean their car out is always nice unless they're touchy about their car. I remember helping a friend clean out her car and it was nice to spend that time with her. I keep meaning to clean out my s.o.'s car cause it always has extra junk and trash in it.

My dog's don't get washed too often...
I don't have that smelly dog problem : /
But when someone offers me a mint out of niceness.... about 5 minutes later i have a sad expression on my face because i realised they might think i have bad breath

My sister finally had her car washed inside!!! Man, it smells amazing, I wonder how long it'll last.
