So, I have a bit of a rant.
I went to church today because I normally do and hadn't been in a couple weeks because I was either at a sleepover or I accidentally slept in. But I went in, had a tiny bit of a headache, nothing bothersome.
It was 10 minutes before the service started and this lady sits down in the pew I was sitting in, basically right next to me. Skip forward until the first reading... This lady decided to shuffle around in her purse, making loads of noise, trying to get a couple of dollars out for the offertory. Mind you, she could have done this during that 10 minute wait for it to start, why you should be prepared so as to not disturb the people around you. But she did it during the first reading and I couldn't concentrate on it so I have NO idea what the first reading was about.
Another thing that bugs me is this lady who came in with her baby. Her baby was making a whole ton of noise, wasn't crying, just noise and she refused to take her baby out into the lobby. The lobby has speakers, it is also known as a cry room because that's where people take their crying babies so as to be able to listen to mass and not disturb everyone. But she didn't do that. She attempted to shush her baby, but he wasn't giving in, and eventually, her daughter who was there and who was between the ages of 9-12 mentioned something to her, probably about taking the baby out into the cry room or something. Sounded like she was getting annoyed. So the mother handed the baby to her young daughter to take the baby out of the room and into the lobby. She should NOT put the responsibility in her young daughter. Either have someone watch your baby at home while you go to church or take the baby out of the room yourself and not your daughter so people can enjoy mass in peace.
long story short, I left with a bigger headache than I started out with and am just generally annoyed.
I don't mind so much if a baby makes noise if you can shush them and they stay quiet, it's just the ones that makes noises nonstop no matter how much you try to shush them where the parent needs to take the baby out of the room (and not the young daughter). That baby was loudd for 90-95% of mass. -.-
