That's good that you're going to keep taking the class until you pass. It's also not bad that you're taking a class at a community college for something that you don't need to pay big dollars for at Uni. I did all my GE's at a community college (worked out to be way cheaper) before I transferred to Uni and got my degree there. (The big secret is people only care--IF they care--where you graduate from.)

If going to a gym motivates you, then it's a good thing. Just be careful about long term gym membership/contracts!

I think the one thing that made the new year start off better was the fact that I ended 2016 cleaning my room. It may sound silly that would be the reason, but I feel like if my room is a mess, it stresses me out and all. And cleaning my room started me out on a clean slate. I've been good with keeping my room clean which, in turn, made me happier so far.
I never liked my room a mess but I had let it get so bad, I didn't have the willpower to do anything. And I'm also needing to prove I can keep my room clean so that my parents wouldn't worry about me getting into an apartment.

I finally found out what books I need, but I'm going to wait for the first day to come and go to see if we really need it. Some professors list books but say that we won't use the book. Just don't want to waste money. But it's only 2 books as well.

You can sometimes get used books--which saves money. Also, there are many pdf books out there today and you can usually get those for free.

I actually prefer them as physical books. Having them digitally, I'd forget all about it. And distractions....

A lady came in to work and looked at our candy dish we have for customers, and said " you know what I'd really like is nuts in here" - so I made a comment about how we probably should have a healthy alternative and she went on to tell me that she lost 90 pounds this year by cutting out sugar and white flour.

She doesn't count her calories she just weighs her food. Three meals a day and all the veggies she wants. She doesn't exercise other then to weight the dog.

OKay, so I like my job....

But I'm not going to stay with it if they keep sending me home early. I've only worked one full shift this week. If they send me home again tomorrow, I'd be pissed.

I haven't left because I like most of my managers, and it was never this constant. They don't know how to schedule people.

If they knew how to, they probably wouldn't be looking for new employees. They have people come in when no one is scheduled to get off so we end up with too many people thus being sent home early. Would it kill them to fix it? I need the hours and yesterday, they asked and I said I didn't want to go home so they didn't send me home. They didn't give a choice today. Yesterday, though, it was another manager, and today it was the gm which I am not going to argue with because I did so before when I was sent on lunch 30 minutes after starting my shift. It didn't matter, she told me to do so anyway and I wasn't going to make a scene.

(I never had any of these problems when I first got the job. It was a different gm when I started, rarely sent people home and didn't send people to lunch until at least an hour after they start. When we got a new gm, she just starts to send people home like we don't need the hours.)

Sometimes it helps to just ask for what you want and or need. You'll have to do it with all of the managers and you may need to remind them many times, but you can make things better it sounds like.

I completely understand about a messy room stressing you out. I also fill like I can't take care of things properly at home if the house is a mess. It was worst when I just had my bedroom at my parents. Keeping the room clean and my desk organized makes it easier to work.

That is so frustrating about work. After the holidays is the slow season but they're making it worst by not being on top of the schedule. I'd have a new job lined up before quitting though. It can be hard to get a new job early in the year.

Yeah, I know. They sent me home again today and I might as well start looking because I'm not getting a lot of hours. I couldn't even make it til noon. They don't know how to schedule. Either they fix themselves or I'm leaving.

It's alway the general manager that sends me home. Not the shift managers. Not that I did anything wrong. They say I do a good job, unless that's just to make me feel better. Though I don't make a lot of mistakes, and if I make a mistake, it's only one time and not often. I'm tired of wasting energy to get sent back home.

If I do get another job, it's going to be in my home town.

what are your State laws for work - if they bring you in are they required to give you a set amount of hours? Like where I work if they call us in they have to give us a minimum of 2 hours, or do a split shift for that day. And being paid slaary differs from if you are paid hourly. That's where sometimes being paid salary is better because you have a set amount regardless of whether they have work for you where as with hours if they don't have work they can let you go or call to tell you not to come in.

The hour situation would be a good question to ask about on your next job. Your GM is probably trying to make it look like they meet budget, regardless of how it affects the employees lives.

Of course I'd be the one to buy an external keyboard when my laptop's keyboard is still fully functional all because I like the feel and the typing noises of those external ones, like the ones you find with desktops. lol

I went to the library yesterday for probably 2 hours just to type on the keyboards.

That's funny! I like the clickety clickety of mechanical keyboards, but I can't bring myself to buy one. :(

Yeah, and the keyboard sounds on my phone--well, they don't cut it. LOL (That is a really silly feature isn't it?)

I got paid (let alone it wasn't big because I keep getting sent home) today and decided to buy one. I probably shouldn't have, but I did. Lol.

I should be saving my money.

Well if you type a lot, I think you probably do, and it makes you happy, then it's a good purchase. Maybe it'll give you incentive to type more. Perhaps a story, blog, or your journal! :)

A good keyboard will last for years. Just don't spill anything on it!!
