I love tunafish sandwichs but yeah, best not pack it away. Turkey and Peanut butter and jelly are safe bets.

Yes - no fish! So Watery reminded me of a few sandwich "date" incidents:

[+] SPOILER
So, I had this guy friend (in the past) that wanted to meet me during my lunch hour and I thought we would be just going to go to a local restaurant but he had brought a picnic (there was a small park near by) which sounds nice and romantic except I didn't want to date him ( which I had told him I would meet him but didn't want to be dating), and if it was some other girl his food choices would have been very thoughtful except he brought everything I didn't like to eat... bagels with cream cheese and Lox. I only like my bagels toasted warm with butter, I only like cream cheese masked in desserts and I definitely stay away from fish (salmon gives me an itchy mouth and face) and some weird drink and fortunately some bottled water. Definitely healthy ( oh ya, that is how I met him - at a the sign up booth for a health project his university class was hosting that my friend and I went to each day that tracked our pulse/distance we walked jogged etc). I sadly don't even remember his name right now but I'll never forget how awkward the lunch was.

Another guy ( a friend of a friend I met)I went out on a first date - at lunch again but not a work lunch hour- and I ordered the Reuben sandwich, ( made with pastrami), which a word of warning : pastrami gets stuck in your teeth. We laughed about it but I was really mortified ( hence why I remember it). Actually I laughed a lot with that guy but he wasn't over the girl he had been dating and it ended up going no where but I had fun for the brief time we dated.

It's nicer when you can get to know people in a group setting, it takes much of the pressure of the first "dates" off because you can see if you are attracted to their personality etc and have similar interests etc

On the morning of the last day of a retreat I went to, my friends and I made grilled cheese, pancakes, and a chocolate rice porridge for breakfast. Not the weirdest breakfast I've had, but definitely once of my top 5 faves (mainly because of the memories)

Is chocolate rice porridge like rice pudding?

the best is making memories with the people you care about!

Lemon: I feel fro you about not liking any of the food on that one lunch"date". I'm a picky eater so eating at someone else's house can stress me out because I want to be nice and eat whatever is offered but there's normally something that I wont like.

Lemon sandwich? What else would be in it?

mdom: If lemon sandwich mean a raspberry sauce and lemon curd in the middle of two slices of lemon pound cake - then yes! I'd definitely go for that!

Watey: I have food sensitivities so that I am sometimes afraid to try things because I know I may get sick from it later. But on the other hand I know I get sick from some foods and I eat them anyway because I like them -cucumber for example, I would eat it alone with salt if I could but just two small slices give me such bad indigestion, yet if they are in a salad I eat them I suffer later.

Dragoness, I am not so adventurous. I may try a small sample of something but I have had to spit stuff out so that can be embarrassing too.
