But you don't get paid taking off do you??

That's nice they gave you options & not just firing people.

What will you do during your time off?

Npix, to be safe you should look at the location of the expo & what is around it so you are familiar before you go & leave contact information with your parents ( the number & names of people you are going with), in case your phone dies & they need a way to contact you.

No pay, but a supervisor mentioned applying for something or other during those two months
Ye
According to my mom, a lot of chores and cooking. But also hopefully hanging out with friends, especially since one friend also works at the store, but on days, so we'll both be off!
That's probably a good idea, on Tuesday I'll be checking the itinerary of the expo, so I'll also look up the location and whatnot

At least you have a job to go back to.

Expo should be fun. Just be prepared to wade through oceans of people.

oh nice you are doing cosplay! Did you do a group theme with the people you are traveling with?

Are you able to get the schedule ahead so you can plan out your day?

Have fun!

Nah, he said he'll probably be an imperial Japanese soldier, so no group idea, also he said the other friend isn't coming so it's just us two now. Which I'm relieved about tbh!

I have the site on my tabs, so I'll be checking tonight

Tysm

Last night work was brutal, but invigorating. I was in charge, so I had to make decisions, like leaving aisle 9 until later because of construction, leaving 2 skids in the back, stuff like that. But that wasn't so bad. What WAS bad was having to shovel and pick up rotting, decaying, mouse poop covered, wet cereal boxes that had fallen between the aisle 9 shelf and the frozen coolers over the course of several years. It was disgusting, but we got it done, filled two bins and three bags. And then later our only working power jack stopped working, but we eventually figured it out, so yay!

Wow Npix! I'm impressed how far your have gone with your job - your job responsibilities have increased to being placed in charge - & how well you managed the disgusting aspects of it ( I think I would've had a melt down with rotting & decaying food & mountains of mouse poop!!) Great job!! You should be proud of yourself!! (Hopefully the new owners will put some kind of regular inspection in place so it doesn't happen again!!).

Hope you had fun at the Expo!

Thanks, I try! Only part I wasn't proud about is one moment near the end of the shift, where I snapped "ok!" Angrily when a coworker was trying to explain something for the third time after not listening to me, a thing he had done multiple times. I apologized afterwards and it was all good, but still.

The Expo hasn't happened yet! I just checked the itinerary last night, still have a few more days! But I'm aa hyped as ever!

Had Dairy Queen as a treat for lasting two weeks with construction, as per the agreement with my mom, so that was nice!

I'd like it if every fictional thing had a site where one of the things you could do was customize your own character that would be in that fictional universe, but sadly no dice

You know recognizing you made an error in judgement & rectifying it with an apology is HUGE.
Sometimes we are taxed & get irritable, which with what you were dealing with is understandable, but fixing it & explaining it to the person you had faulted helps them as well.

Oh ok, more anticipation then for the week end.

Yay Mom for DQ!

Thanks! I'm much better at admitting I'm wrong than I used to be!

Yeye! I keep telling myself "one day without construction, one with construction, two days off, one with construction, one without, then finally Expo weekend" and shortening the chant every day. Now it's "one with construction, one without, then finally Expo weekend" . It's really helping me stay strong during days like the previously mentioned one!

Ikr! She said just try and get through at least two weeks, two weeks ago, and I just said "Dairy Queen". She paused for a minute and then said "ok fine, Dairy Queen and McDonald's". So I got a bonus!

Last night was construction again, but it's becoming easier to deal with, so that's a plus!

It sounds like it needed an over haul so hopefully it will be a better working environment when it is finished.
