Paprika is a powder made from grinding the pods of various kinds of Capsicum annuum peppers.

I guess it's not common knowledge here in the US.

It's an everyday vegetable here too... but fresh bell peppers don't taste like paprika to me and I honestly never researched it before! (Some chef I am...which I obviously am not)

Those are the bell pepper family here..we have green, red and yellow that we eat.
