Ahahaha, you may say that, but back then, I had no clue. All I knew was that I'd been told since I was six that grades determined your future. You needed an A so you could get a job and not starve to death or hate your life. You need an A if you want to make it in the future. You need an A if you want a good job. You need an A if you don't want to work drive thrus the rest of your life.
Grades and futures, forever intertwined.
And I was someone who couldn't get straight A's after third grade. And that wrecked me for a while.
Then I got super depressed and uprooted from the school I'd be in since forever, and stopped caring about grades once the pressure was off me. Now I'm a senior and a C student. Whee.
