I guess turtles wouldn't be so bad to re-home as other pets can be. I've heard birds don't do well with being moved to a new family.

Our dog once lived with a woman who passed away and he got re-homed to a family who kept him a year or two before re-homing him again. He now has a forever home with us.

@Lemon,s ??? About having babies in captivity

She layed two around the first of February I think it was then ?? I have a bad memory but they were her first ones EVER heck I never knew she was pregnant heck I wasn't even positive she was a she and he a he lol anyways they were layed under water and then scrambled around before I even woke up to even find out that they was even layed so they didn't survive :( but if I would have had a beach basking sandy spot for her to have them they would have made it because they were fertilized and all I did read that much online to find out if they was :(

Gizzie: Oh my goodness! You must have been so excited - if but for a brief moment. I remember watching a show on how the Mother turtles cover their babies with sand so a sand pit that would act as an incubator might be an idea for the future - since you know it is possible. Can you imagine little tiny baby turtles....!?

Gizzie could definitely dress them up! She comes up with some great costumes for her turtles!

yes, it is sad the eggs did not survive...but it happens irl with turtles and also with birds...they need the right steady temperature after being fertilized to survive

I remember a program about sea turtles (my favorite perhaps) and how some conservation groups have to man the beaches to stop the poachers from taking turtle eggs (humans as well as animals!).
