I think your art that I've seen is very cute! You are VERY talented and I would love to see more of your work.

Diana was so excited when you shared your hair texture technique with her. As you can probably recognize, art is one of her loves. I think a true artist is someone that creates because they love what they do. Windlyn started as an outlet to share the things Diana and her friends love. It's so awesome that artists of all levels have started to recognize what Windlyn is and want to support one another's loves.

And I understand what you guys mean, but I don't want someone with absolutely no experience in the field of education coming into my classroom and telling me what I should do differently. Mostly because usually they have no idea what they're talking about. I guess I feel the same way with someone else's field. I'm not going to go into something that I have no idea about and critique what someone else is doing. /shrugs

Thank you, art is a pretty big part of my life so I enjoy making it and sharing it with others.

I've noticed, she's very hard working and surprised me in many ways with the amount of time she dedicates to this place and how she is open to learning new techniques. ^^ I agree very much with you, you must enjoy what you do or else it loses the meaning behind it. I hope this place stays the same warm and welcoming windlyn it's now. I enjoy coming back to a positive and friendly staff.

I understand what your saying, but everyone can still be wrong. Like if a student knows something the teacher doesn't, or a child that has heard of things parent's haven't. I do understand though, when your at a certain lvl of skill/knowledge it's uncommon for others to have as much understanding of your profession.

But before you reach that point of professionalism, opinions from objective bystanders can be valid information even if they haven't studied or know much of what you do. In the end it is the person on the receiving end who decides if they will make anything of it. So even if someone goes through the trouble of giving their opinion/feedback on their work, it can be ignored or used.

i like that painted look

do you start with the darks and then paint on lighter?

i started with just a base block color of the hair shape and then painted on the shades/highlights in a new clipped layer
but i'm not so sure of the result

it was black and white at first so i just put a green overlay on it
but i suppose you could also recolor it in photoshop with a gradient map?
(then that way the darks and lights could be different hues like in your third hair example?)

I had a reference for the first one. The first and third were drawn in opaque marker and later printed on shirts that were sold a while ago.
