Ryvvi: I wouldn't think it would cost too much to make a fairy garden. I saw one in the store before that included the dirt and seeds and little furniture pieces. You watered it and the grass grew.
Does the store you work at have any broken bags of soil or flower pots that you could retrieve? Put some succulent plants in their and some chia seed or herbs.
