I have off tomorrow, then have to work Friday, then have 5 days off in a row so we can go to New York to see my mother-in-law. I am excited. I have never been to NY before.

oh how nice to go visit you mom in law! Does she live near the city? Are you going to do any tourist type of things (like the Statue of liberty etc?)

Well we were planning on going, now we are not. Apparently the tolls to just get to where she is will be $40 one way! T_T
She lives near Queens I believe.
She had gotten scammed with buying a house. Put $5,000 down and then moved in and a few weeks or so later the real owner of the house came back and kicked them out. Police won't even do anything about it because it happens all the time there.

There has to be a place that can be reported to beside the police - that is so sad!

I've never done any toll costs for roads , although I have heard of it - $40 seems very high though! Is there another way around to go without paying toll charges? What if you took a train or bus ride?

I've been down a road to my grandma's that used to require a toll. But it wasn't even $1 toll. Eventually, they stopped requiring it because I guess it was for road repairs and they got enough to do so.

OMG! How awful that both that happened to her and that there's nothing being done about it.

$40 is outrageous. There are tolls around Northern Virginia and I remember there being some in Florida. Most the time you can just take a longer routes.

So much fraud going on it is crazy and they target the seniors who are so trusting!Problem is they are long gone by the time the buyer finds out. I hope good fortune will come to her to make up for the loss. (In some countries there are squatters rights -)

Yeah, such is all the unfairness of life's cruelty.

I asked if there were any way to avoid the toll roads too, but there isn't. The biggest toll is crossing that one bridge that we need to cross.

I go to the library for peace, quietness and a better concentration environment to work on a project....

Instead, there's a lot of loud children and parents who won't try to teach their kids to be quiet in a library. I mean, there's people here who needs the concentration.

I hope those people leave shortly! The library is supposed to be a place of quiet. Is the staff not doing anything about them?
Get a shhhhsh stick and bop them with it! lol
