My oldest sister 'ran away' to NYC for about six years when she graduated
My brother left asap (tho for him it was more both parents cuz he hates dad for "ruining the chances of his parents (our mom and his dad from ever getting back together")
And mom kicked out dad's daughter for doing stupid teenager stuff and ave her the most restrictions and then punished her for it all
And then I'm the failure (tho she never says it to me, just to everyone else) who sits on the computer all day doing nothing

We had planned on a Disney trip next year with my one cousin but that's about 5k (actual price prolly closer to 3k but in case of price hikes and/or overspending we're covered) and I'm nowhere near that, and the way mom's being, it very well mght end up canceled

People (parents included) will criticize people who spend all of their time on the computer until you make more money than them being on the computer all day. The trick is of course is doing productive stuff on the computer rather than only doing things that just waste time and resources.

But balance is the key to everything. It's really not good for humans to sit or stare at a computer most of their waking hours.

If you don't have the funds for Disney, then you don't. Is mom standing in the way?

And how does one apply for jobs these days? By staring at a bloody computer

She claims that she'll have the money once her inheritance comes in but we also need a new car (our truck is old and starting to cost more than it was originally worth and we need a second one anyway) and she's doing something that's keeping everyone from collecting their inheritances
And then she turns around and says that if I get my license we'll get a loan out for a car because she can't make up her mind

Less mom and more my cousin being disappointed for the trip o.e

December is usually a good time to buy a car because the dealerships are generally trying to clear out "last years" models to make room for the new and some offer zero to low interest loans. Go test drive some cars now and research them so that if a deal appears you are ready to jump on it right away.

I have no idea about the inheritance other then people come out of the wood work so to speak once someone dies or are angry over who gets what. Sometimes there is an age restriction but if you are named in a will then I believe you are entitled to a copy of the will. But people can contest a will and hold up the process.

I suppose if it was between me needing a vehicle or going on a trip I'd probably take the vehicle (hey, maybe you could go on a road trip with it).

Everyone knows what they're getting. Mom's getting enough to buy a brand new car, and since we always buy used, it'll cost even less so she can definitely afford both car and trip and still have enough to pay the bills for several months
I think she's hding it up over some technicality
