Yeah, I posted that I had joined and a good twenty+ people signed up (not because I joined but because I posted the avatar and people really liked it, at least I believe that's the reason.) So many signed up in such a short amount of time, it froze the site a few times and peoples verifications started coming in really late. One poor girl got banned before she could join because she didn't get her verification, so she thought the name was taken and tried to make an account with a different name and got accused of attempting to make more than one account. I really hope they clear it up for her, because that wasn't really fair.

Oh my I hope that it does get taken care of. I honestly thought the wave of recolor people would of started with Kitalpha Hart and Silverfire since they joined around the same time I did. A few people did and then it slowed down. XD

It's awesome you invited your friends! We really weren't expecting to have so many people join all at once, and were pretty blown away. The server has been under a lot of load anyways past few days, and so it's been a little laggy. Verifications were slow to send out because people continually made accounts and so all those emails were getting backed up-- they were still sending, just there were so many it was taking a long time (over 150 accounts were made just today!)

We allow multiple accounts per email at Windlyn, so the username will be the trigger if you've already registered-- not the email. Because of that, a lot of people think that their username is taken and continue to make accounts (we're not that big yet though!) I tried to put a big red, bold, underlined, asterisk lined notice right above the submit line to alert people of this, but sometimes it seems to be overlooked.

If you are friends with the any users who got an hour ban, please assure them we didn't mean anything bad about them. Because of the same reason all the verification emails were getting backed up, we were unable to send out any emails to users in a reasonable amount of time. As I said earlier, more account emails make the whole queue longer, so the quickest way to get them to take a break and know that their account has been made was to throw a message into a ban so it shows up the next time they load the page (that way it's also private so we wouldn't have to alert the entire world about them). I tried to make the message as quick and friendly as possible, so it wouldn't be alarming, but that's hard in just a few characters, and I only sent out a ban if the user made more than five accounts in the last half hour.

I've been trying to clean up the userlist and get people their first choice of usernames, so some of their emails might not work right now. We're working on sorting through everything and getting everyone their emails as fast as possible!

Hopefully that clears it up!

I think the young lady who it happened to has it cleared up now. I figure it was a misunderstanding, but it seems to be working for her now. I do apologize for the large influx of people rushing the site so suddenly at once causing the back-up, I've been telling those who speak with me about joining to be patient and not rush the verification e-mail and so far so good. It's a little site so patience is necessary, especially with the massive amount of numbers that came in today alone. Thank you for commenting here and letting me know, and if any find difficulty or something happens, I'll let you know so I can keep them calm and not panicking over something that might be no big deal and temporary.

I don't count Turtle Sensei because I met her on Zantarni six or seven years ago so we have been friends a long time. She was the one who showed me Windlyn and I joined not long after her. XD

Mine just has a dumb box that pops up and stares at me stupidly like, "What do I do now?" I click on it, nothing. I've tried everything and sometimes at random it'll work, most times, not at all.

Turtle's the one I was doing the commission for (a freeb) because she showed me this site! Hahaha! She showed me her avy on here and told me what the site was called and I thought the avys were so cute, I just had to join. Plus, I'm typically a bamf at forum sites. Lol.
