I have an external hard drive that I used for school, but its formatted for mac and I have windows.

You should still be able to use it. Windows will read Mac formats (some may require installing a utility), but Mac won't read Windows or anyone else's formats without a lot of hassle. Do you know which format it's in?

No. I didn't format it myself. An it person who was helping the class format their externals did it.

Just plug it into a Windows machine and have a look at Disk Manager.

ugh, viruses are going around here now too...happens every fall when people go back to school and the weather changes...I am hoping I don't get sick. I was grocery shopping yesterday and if someone sneezed or coughed in an aisle I turned around and went two aisles over hoping to avoid the stuff.

Actually, when you think of it, we should disinfect the outside of food containers from the grocery store...who knows what may be sitting on them...

Too time consuming. And people expect people like me to not go to the store sick. But what can you do? I needed to buy something to eat to help my stuffy nose so i got soup for today and tomorrow in case I'm too sock to work. Tbh, i should have called out today.

If I can manage to figure that out.

1. Plug in your drive.
2. Right click on Computer and select Manage
3. Click Disk Management
4. Look through the list of drives in the bottom half of the window for the drive. It will say NTFS, FAT32, EXFAT, HFS+, or something else.

Windows can natively read anything except HFS+. To do that, get HFSExplorer for Windows (free)
