Probably why they offer candy or ice cream afterwards here. If you are low on iron you can't give blood.

It bothers me though that people donate blood for free but pharmaceutical places turn around and sell blood for high prices.

Aww... that's quite a cute scenery :)
I am living in the country side near the mountains.
We don't get to visit the beach that much.

the countryside has some relaxing scenery too... momma cows and their calves, rolling acres of grains waving in the wind... not sure what is planted in the fields over where you are.

Most of the farmers here grows rice on the rice field and they are using water buffaloes to plow the paddies.
It's really nice to hear birds chirping on the trees and the crickets on the grass.

We also have cows, goats and chickens.
But water buffaloes are the most important animals for the farmers here.
They are strong, big and can do the farm jobs easily. They're a big help to our local farmers :)

Oh by the way, where are you from Lemon?

I'm in sunny California now but I have lived a variety of places before this, from below zero temperatures, but I prefer where I am now.

I like the photo of the water buffalo

Ooh, sunny California :)
Do you frequently experience some earthquakes there?
We had a 5.2 magnitude the other night.
My parents and sister were already asleep.
I was watching an evening drama when I felt it.
I ran to the kitchen and saw the water from the drinking bottle were shaking.
Quite scary tho...

contrary to popular belief, not all of California experiences frequent earthquakes - no more then when I lived in Canada, although it is the same Cascadia fault line
