I use to check our pool thermometer and not get in it unless it was like 77F.
I'm more use to pools so don't have to worry about anything like that. There's no connection other than the names are similar. I just had something on my feet to protect against/minimize a jellyfish sting.(It was a long time ago when I was a kid so I don't remember whether or not I got hurt.)
