Hello, just dropping by.

Lol the start and end chapter reminds me of anime.
When I decide to watch a popular series but can't get into it in a few episodes in, I try watching the last episode to see if it's worth it.

I try not to do that with books though.

most people don't like to do that with books, but if I am in a book store or at the library I find it very helpful to figure out if I want the book.

Ahhh as for me I usually only read the last portion when I actually like the book/am eager to see how it ends.

I don't think it'll really help for me to read the ending to understand if I'll like the book though.
When it comes to prose, I'm usually dependent on the tone of the writing and character building.

I like to know what I am getting into, I'm not one much for unexpected surprises, I like to be prepared :grin_wink:

Sometimes if I already know the ending - like if I watched the movie before the book - that doesn't make me motivated to read xDDD

but the movie is rarely just like the book so sometimes I want to read the book just to find out what the original intent was.

I read the early installment of the Harry Potter books after seeing the movies. I still liked them and I actually prefer the books too.

The movies helps me visualize some things though.

I thought the Harry Potter movies kept fairly close to the books. I could watch the movies without feeling disappointed like I have with some books made into movies ( like Eragon)

I remember that fans of the books still complained a lot though due to the fact that the producers removed certain details from the books. The one I remember is Kreacher. There are others too but that's the only thing I remember. Haha

well, I wasn't a dedicated had to line up for the new release kind of fan and honestly sometimes I skim read instead of every word detail. I'll ask Mousy , she'll know, she is an avid Harry Potter fan!

see the expert knows!

The first two books into movies I thought were good. Now that you mention it Mousy, the Goblet of Fire had some problems with it and the last one- yawn.
