My cousin wanted to play the cello.

...You can't find any cello shops in the Philippines at all.

So one of her teachers lent her his old one under the agreement that she had to play if she wants to keep borrowing it.

I think now my aunt is planning to finally buy the cello for her

I thought it was a skirt at first.

And I have never really watched musicals/recitals... save for this one piano recital when I was young. Really young. I think I almost fell asleep during that time

Recitals or musicals aside-- what about orchestras? I managed to attend the KH world tour and it was awesome~~

I've never been in one. I'd probably prefer musicals though. I was pretty into Hamilton for a while although it's not exactly your typical Broadway musical.

Are orchestras common in where you live?

:o You made it to yhe KH orchestra? I am so jealous! Was it amazing? Did it give you chills?

People always say Hamilton isnt a typical broadway, but I dont really understand why. I think it was very typical of lin manuel miranda's musicals. :)

Just the music genre, I guess? I haven't listened to any of Miranda's other musicals unfortunately.

ah, yeah, the rock and hiphop type musicals have been more popular in musicals, definitely in the last 5 years, I think.

I actually like his other musicals way better! "In the heights" and "bring it on" are great! You can find both on youtube with the original cast if you have some time on your hands and want to watch something, I recommend it. :)

Not for Broadway, I guess?

It's probably a combination of genre plus the venue of performance. I've heard of "In the Heights" though I never looked it up. I liked Hamilton though mainly for the lyrics. It was fun reading the lyrics for me lol.

dunno I kinda hope rap doesn't become common in musicals xD even though it was cool in hamilton.

My university had an orchestra and a baroque music department, so I got to watch many recitals. It was awesome.

I enjoy musicals but haven't been been for a long time and only once to a broadway performance.
