Dragoness - I hope I'd be allowed to bring a water bottle. I have a hard time getting up from sitting and I get thirsty easily so not sure how'd I'd manage otherwise. I'll ask ahead of time. They both are on Meetups and I was able to get a response to an earlier question. Don't really want to ask before I am able to go though.
Lemon - It's good to appreciate what you have, in good times and bad. Our house is small but it works for us. The studio apartment was too small. Wasn't so much clutter as it was just too short of a distance to any one spot.(Having to watch tv in bed or at an angle from my desk was not enjoyable.) I feel much healthier having rooms and a hall to walk through. I kind of feel any bigger though and it would be harder to move around( things more spread out).
I think you could make some rooms serve more than one purpose. Having a large enough table can serve both for meals and for some arts and crafts. A living room and a sitting room can be the same room; a couch or comfy chair is good for both watching tv and reading. You might have to shift where the supplies or furniture go though.
Of course it's easier when it's just you or one other person. When you have a family space quickly gets eaten up.
I like space saving ideas. Some of them require being somewhat handy though.
