My mcdonalds, unfortunately, don't have that air curtain luxury. My fingers have finally stopped hurting from the freezing temps.

Cremuex hello! Yeah, everyone's welcome in my hangout. I tend to use this to also vent so I'm sorry if you don't like reading those kinds of things, but you can talk about anything, even if it's not on topic. I'm doing fine. What about you?

Also, i could turn the heat up, but the hot air blasting directly on me makes me nauseous. Though, i try my hardest if my coworkers turn it up.

It makes it hard when i have the window open because I'm attending to a customer who is taking a long time for one reason or another. And the fact it's drive thru only at the moment makes drive thru crazy busy (it's busy normally but even more so now). Luckily the lobby remodel is just about done.

I need out of mcdonalds. It's just getting unbearable.

There are certain OSHA safety laws that may be being violated if you are getting that cold. However, I understand not wanting to make waves in a job by reporting ( anonymous whistle blowing never seems to stay that), but perhaps once the remodel is done it will make it easier and you can close the window doors to keep the cool air out, for longer.

Keep looking for work then, you have that much more experience now to put on your resume.

It's fine, I don't mind people venting in general or at me in PMs or anything like that. I'm chill with listening when people have problems.

It sucks that it's so cold there, especially for your extremities like your fingers and toes. Working at McDonalds probably means you don't get to wear gloves in case you need to do anything with the kitchen stuff. I'm sorry it's getting so stressful.

I hope you find a better job in the future if you do start looking for it. McDonalds does look good on resumes though, mainly because you have to deal with so much and the customers can be quite a handful sometimes.

I'm doing pretty well, just hung out the clothes to dry and I made myself some fried rice for an early lunch. I'm gonna read up on the site lore in a bit.

Oh, my, that's not good. Have you tried fingerless gloves? I could be wrong, but perhaps those could help?

When the remodel is over, I suspect people will come in more, even just to check out what's new.

Oh, I didn't know the site was going through a remodel. I think it looks great now but it'll be cool to see how it changes.

Oh, no, the remodel we're talking about is mcdonalds. The one I work at is under remodel and drive thru might die down a bit because people would want to see the changes.
I can wear fingerless gloves, i just don't have any and if i sid, i would have lost them by now.

Pretty much any gloves can become fingerless with a pair of scissors! ;)

It also hard to handle money with gloves. Fingerless or not.

Yeah, but cold metal on already cold hands sounds painful. Unless your country mostly uses notes (like $1 notes) instead of coins. How long until the McDonalds renovations are done? Did they only recently start or have they been going on for a while?

It had been going on for a month exactly. We finally opened the lobby today.

But im now completely done with this job. I need out and find one that doesn't revolve around customer serviced.

Congrats on opening the lobby up! You should be less busy at drive thru now.

*ponders what jobs might be transferrable between McDonalds and non-customer focused* Cleaners don't really have to do with customers, when I was doing it it was after the business closed and I didn't need qualifications for it or anything. You also have to be able to carry heavy loads for an industrial vacuum cleaner and learn which chemicals don't mix for cleaning bathrooms and stuff. It's not for everyone, but you can do it without having people around.

Maybe a warehouse job if you've done inventory work with it? Some warehouses require you have a forklift licence though. If you can drive being a courier might be good (I wouldn't suggest doing uber or anything though since you don't earn much when you factor in fuel, insurance and car maintenance), you only have to deal with people when you pick up and drop off items.

I don't really know you well enough to make suggestions though because I don't know what your likes and dislikes are or what skill set you have. :/c

Good luck though.

I would not dare do anything like uber....

I'm not dealing with that drama.

There's drama in just about everything people are included in, unfortunately. :(

Yeah, but they're not all the same kinds of drama.
