What's your plans for Thanksgiving? Do you get to go home for a family dinner or do you have to work? I always wonder if the places that are open pay double time or just give their employees a different day off.

My workplace is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas, as for Bassy, her workplace is open every holiday, every day. But she chooses to work there so, well, she may have to miss out on some holidays with family. But that's just how life be.

Work and it's not worth fighting the crowds over. My dad is asking what I want for Christmas and I don't even know if there is anything I want to ask for. I usually just get what I want when it comes to my mind.

That's where money comes in handy as a gift ...you can just save it until you find something later ( and often wait for a sale that way) or let it accumulate for something big.

Maybe I'll just tell them to give me a gift card when they ask me again and don't want to wait any longer. Like, I got everything I pretty much need and the thing I want doesn't even come out until 3/20/2020 and I already have it preordered. And I want to go to do an overnight stay at this abandoned hospital (abandoned as in no longer being used as a hospital, but it's being used as a tourist attraction to do things like guided tours and private investigations since it's the most haunted place in the state at the very least.)

But I might just try to look around online to see if anything tickles my fancy. I wouldn't necessarily be upset if I didn't get anything for Christmas, but it wouldn't feel good being the only one to not get anything, so I just need to come up with something.

Sounds like you are one in a few...some people take out loans to cover Christmas (that's insane to me).

Not sure I could do something scary like the abandoned hospital overnight but I'd be into taking a day tour!

Hey, if it helps you save money then living with family is ok...I get the restrictions are hard to deal with but it is only for a short time and it gets you a head start rather then most of your money going to rent & utilities, plus in this age it gives an added protection, someone to look out for you, ( ya, I watched all seasons of forensic files).

If you let them know you have nothing in particular you want or need I am sure they would be fine with a gift card in your stocking or something.

I may just ask for a switch game I don't have yet and haven't preordered. I have a few games on my list that isn't including the preordered games (Luigi's Mansion 3, Super Mario Maker, Super Mario Bros switch, Super Mario Party, and probably a handful of others I can't quite put my finger on.)

They've done gift cards in the past, I don't see why they can't just default to that if I don't say what I want for Christmas. At least that way I can get something when I find something I want and Amazon is the way to go.
