*Hugs* I miss you all too.
Unfortunately, it hasn't been fun here and I haven't been well. I'm doing better now but things are still chaotic.

We took in a couple who were on hard times and it hasn't worked out. Our generosity was taken advantaged of and now we have to legally go through with evicting them. I've been so stressed and was unable to get any decent sleep. I saw my dr and was able to finally get rest this past week and a half. But with the eviction they would have a month to get out and it's looking like they wont be leaving any sooner than that.

I am so sorry watery! That's terrible for them to take advantage of your generosity. I never understand that - what's the expression ...they bite the hand that feeds them?...and you don't have strength at the best of times. Do you have a lock on your bedroom door?

(good to see you back on though!)

I don't understand it either. We've tried multiple times to try to work things out but one of them just doesn't seem to care. It makes it hard for their partner, who feels all alone in this.
Our bedroom door has a lock but I don't think it works. I don't feel physically threatened but even so, having my dog around makes me feel safe.

I've been thinking of this place but it was just so hard to do much of anything in July.

I guess its a good warning to set ground rules and have them signed - but even still that is no guarantee there won't be problems and the rules won't be followed. Unless you own the place yourself, paying rent doesn't entitle one to do whatever they want in that space.

They weren't even paying rent. There was the understanding that they'd get jobs(since they moved across the state) and start paying rent. But yeah we were too casual with the situation.
Can't go through this again. We're too tight to take in people who can't afford rent. I don't even want to rent out a room because you have to screen people and write out a contract. And before all that Eagle and I have to have a long talk and discuss what we want out of it. It's too much.

communication is important and nothing wrong with figuring out on paper what you are and are not willing to live with

I just don't want to have to go through all that. I know we should if we were to have someone else stay here but I'd rather not do it at all.

see if you can get by without letting out a room, after this last round you may want a break anyway

I don't think we need to rent out any rooms. I also don't want anyone else here. I wasn't crazy about having someone else stay here to begin with. Talking with Eagle and he thinks part of the mistake was taking in a couple, which I agree, it complicates things. But he's still ok with having someone stay here as long as it's not a couple. I let him know that I don't think it's worth the hassle.

Hey Dragoness!

Lemon - Having a friend or family visit is nice and if they want to stay over, that's fine. As long as no one over stays their welcome. This couple however are strangers.
