I don't think it will hurt if you press longer - but supposedly not necessary?

some people don't believe pressure point acupuncture works but it seemed to help me so I am willing to keep trying it - it isn't hurting so why not?

I've wanted to try acupuncture. I have a friend with fibro and it helps her.

Re: acupuncture

It really depends on how much pain you're already in. You can get to the point (pardon the pun!) where the pain is so bad, you'll try anything and a few pin pricks are nothing in comparison. What I find funny is some places uses "staples" for lack of a better term, but the description is pretty good. Now that looks like it'd hurt! (Sometimes tech is not always better...)

To clarify that - I don't like the acupuncture on my face because it was uncomfortable. On other areas it wasn't a big deal ( I actually fell asleep). Pressing on the sites that would be used for acupuncture (but no needles) seems to work too though (without the needles).

I don't like the "deep tissue massages" - my body just cramps up. But there are other techniques that work. I had a friend ( who does massage for a living) give me one that my body just felt so relaxed I felt like a bowl of jello.

My body is not meant for tough massages. lol

Glad to know I'm not really the only one.
