I was visiting a friend today and she takes 5 mg of Melatonin. She said 1 mg did not work for her and 10 mg did not seem to be any different then the 5 mg.
I tried looking it up:
"Between two tenths of a milligram and five milligrams 60 minutes before bedtime is a typical dose for adults, while children should take a smaller dose. Too much melatonin can disrupt your sleep cycle, so start with the smallest dose "
The Mayo clinic site:
http://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplem ... b-20059770gives dosage amounts and when to take for all sorts of problems - inflammation, chronic fatigue, sleep disorder, asthma, fibromyalgia, withdrawal from anti anxiety meds, chronic lung disorders, etc .
I did not realize it was used for so many conditions.
