I contemplated doing that.. the thing is.... they had a whole empty lane to pass me in.. I had to pull over with a whole empty lane still available which was useless on my half.

Driving can be frustrating at the best of times. Sometimes in bad weather conditions people like to "follow" the car in front of them...but it doesn't sound like this person was doing that.

The interstate that day was so bad, couldn't see the lines on the road. No way in hell was I gonna take side roads.

It was only bad during that time of night. It was like 1:30am. The salt trucks were out doing their thing, but it takes time for the snow to melt from the salt.
