It is more likely an allergy to the metals found in the electronics ...similar to people who can't wear costume jewellry because of the Nickel metal.

ooohhh metal allergies suck >.>
i have around 6 piercings so it's really dangerous to use certain kinds of earrings? because your ears might swell and get infected

I don't have any piercings. Never wanted them as a kid, still don't. Just the thought of something piercing my ear makes me shudder. Though I do like how pretty earrings look! ^^

My family has metal allergies...seriously...so jewellry has to be 24 Karat... I can do 10 Karat but my Mom and sister cannot risk anything mixed and they used to be able to do sterling silver but I don't think my Mom can now.
