and a dishwasher machine is always handy too but I like to wash the pans by hand, the dishwasher doesn't always seem to get it off.

I think just like when you wash pans and dishes differently by hand, the same must be done when using the dishwasher. There is usually a pots and pan mode and normal dish modes. If you wash pans by hand using the same number or strokes and pressure as you do with dishes, they wouldn't come clean either. I suppose you could always clean all of your dishes in pots and pans mode and it'd behave the way you think it should, but it'd probably waste a lot of energy doing that, so it'd probably be best to just use pots and pan mode when you have pots and pans mode when you have pots and pans in the dishwasher.

Our dishwasher is a glorified drying rack and tiny island on wheels

So mom invited a bunch of people for an impromptu party and literally two people arrived

well impromtu happens that way sometimes but a smaller amount means more food for everyone and a chance to play some board games and maybe even watch a movie...
