Driving home that night was scary. Really low visibility and at one point another car drove through a big puddle that covered most of the road, and the splash from that covered my windscreen.

It seems so early for snow. I hope it's not too bad for you where you live.

That sounds really dangerous! I’m glad you’re safe!

A month’s worth of rain is a massive amount for you, since I think you said it’s very rainy there.

It’ll be okay here, sort of. Unseasonably cold and maybe rain. I’m bundled up and will try to stay indoors. My brothers have to walk to classes, though. One goes to a university in the northeast that skimped on double-paned windows.

That’s cold.

I feel embarrassed now that I have to bundle up so much...

The outdoors is overrated.

Great 3D graphics but can try to kill you.

This happened on a bendy country road too... I was taking it slowly as possible.

Thankfully I live at a top of a hill so I don't have to worry about my house getting flooded. It was really bad in one place that people couldn't leave a shopping mall as the roads had all flooded.

Why would they skimp on that? Wasting so much energy to keep the building warm and it is at risk of damp.

Wow, I’m so glad you’re safe!

When the hurricane came through last year, a lot of houses got flooded. So did a lot of roads. My mom had to go to work one day. She finished her shift at 10pm and didn’t get home until 8am the next morning!

My grad student friend attributes the size of the university’s endowment partially to the window skimping.

I try not to drive in the rain if I can help it...fortunately work is not that far for me and it doesn't rain that often here. I did not like driving in snow but people seem to drive slower in snow then rain.

I want to hibernate in my blankets and watch some shows this week end.
