Most groceries with an 'Asian' section should have what's needed for miso! It's mostly just: dashi stock, miso paste, tofu, nori, fresh spring onions.

If you add mushrooms to miso soup, it turns into a very filling meal.

Dash is a stock, usually made from seaweed, kelp, or mushroom. It's the one used in miso soup - you could probably swap it with vegetable stock or a meat stock and still have something delicious, but it'll be a completely different flavor.
