Yeah I forget how many Cash Shop Items I bought to be honest. I hate when sites get like that. Foopets was free for the longest time with a Club you could pay for in order to get perks or buy special currency. However after the original owner couldn't keep up it was sold and the person who took over made it Pay to Play only. I had already signed up for the Club but canceled my membership and quit the site. After three years the original owner found out and bought it back. He made it free again and I created a free account just to see. I have only one pet which I got to go take care of. XD

Mika: Yeah, Tekton was trying to speak for a lot of the userbase but when he was booted out, that is when he decided to make a site of his own. Recolor isn't perfect, no site really is, but he's done his best to keep everything fair and listens to the users so it's not half bad. We've even got a new tagging system and it helps a bunch. Now if we could just get tipping in every forum plus unlimited tips for posts, and I think things will clear up a lot xD

Recolor has a 7$ for 31 days subscription system but it goes to the site and artists so I don't mind paying that for a free daily item, a chance to vote on new items, and a cool gold username. I mean, it's not like I need it since all items (but the referral/event items but apparently we will get those at the end of the year for karma cause we got the last ones that you don't get like that) can be gotten for the site's currency. It's just a sub does make the quest for owning all the items easier cause you get freebies xD

Yeah $7 is nice price I feel anyway since it pays people who work on the site.

Not to mention Gaia apparently made an 18+ avatar site.... And I've heard you practically have to pay for everything there as well... Gaia just makes you sick to the stomach. I hope someone new will take over one day....

Tentalc (that was the 18+ Gaia site) shut down a few months ago because of 'financial troubles' and pissed a lot of people who paid a lot of money off.

How is a Website that has tons of adults funding it have adult troubles. o.O

Well from what I know is that it wasn't making the right amount of money so they just shut it down stating that they didn't have enough money for upkeep. Yeah.

Pffft that makes little to no sense because it only just opened a few months back from what I can see.

Well, let me see if I can rephrase it, it wasn't being a cash cow like Gaia is.

I know it made a lot of people angry though, like Gaia taking away zOMG.

Ohhh so it was actually run without being a cash cow that is nice!

Yeah. I mean to get a lot of the good items it was like Gaia, you needed to pay. Annnd I won't get into too much but I think there was a lot of CP on there too. But, the biggest problem, was the smaller userbase. And because the base was smaller there was less money flow. So they shut it down. Because of financial troubles.

Oh well. Gaia needs to realize that people aren't made of money and that they aren't going to stay afloat if they keep up their current pace... It might not be so darn bad if their items weren't so expensive.

Honestly Diana and Lime have the right idea by making items affordable from the start!

What got Gaia was the gold gens for cash. At the time people could drop a few cents on one and get like a million gold or more. So ofc people were going to do that. Then it got out of hand. Cause they upped the daily prize and then started releasing better and cooler cash shop items which people would buy and put up in the market for a lot of gold then people bought more gold gens and rinse and repeat plus upping the cash needed to get the gold gens.

And then I won't get into people dropping 1,000$ on the site every month either....
