Why do they have to burn down all the way?
Stock up for next year for the smaller ones. Hanukkah candles are extremely thin & you can buy them short stem.
These may be different traditions! Here visits are usually a whole affair that end up simultaneously being a big family reunion. There's food, candle, and prayer offerings, and the candles are watched until they burn down.
I'll be on the lookout for those candles next time around!!
