It's been cooling down here. We're getting rain in the afternoon.

In other news, the squatters have left. Eagle is driving them across the state back to their hometown area. I spent nearly an hour just going through the two rooms and starting to tidy it up. Then I put away our towels( because one of them would keep using them all up).

We evicted them. Eagle went to court last week and it was ruled for them to be out by the time the notice arrived in the mail. It came Friday evening. We could have just kicked them out but Eagle offered them a ride instead.

Wow, you went above and beyond, they put you through all that frustration and cost and you still helped them out! The sad thing is you had to go through all that hassle with them, do they even realize the generosity you showed them and will it make them change for the better? We can only hope but probably not... the most I probably would have done is take them to the bus station.

I'm with you Lemon--when someone uses the law to create more hardship on you--especially when you're doing them a favor, they quickly use up any remaining goodwill. I understand why the tenant/eviction laws came about, but they get abused so often that it's a wonder the loopholes have not been patched yet.

Some people are perpetual problem machines. It's sad, but the red flags are a history of bad luck, and (even redder flag) not taking any responsibility for any of it. Be wary of the red flags!

I'm really surprised that Eagle took a nearly 5 hour round-trip drive for them. But no they do not recognize what we've done for them and they almost screwed themselves out of the ride out of here. Eagle said that he'd drive them out on Saturday. He checked the weather and noticed it was going to rain so he decided to head out early in the morning. They had a fit even though it was the same day, just earlier. They had a couple of days to pack and not much stuff. I actually thought they had been packing but no they didn't seem to until an hour or so before he wanted to leave. Left some things they should really have had packed, like prescription medicine.

It really doesn't sound like they've learned anything. Their friend that gave them a ride over here and was going to pick them up sounds like she's had enough of them. There's a lot of stuff but I wont go into it. Simply put, they keep making the same mistakes and get out of it by asking for help from others. They keep taking but don't give in return.

I was thinking along the lines of them taking a bus too. They're trans and one of them feels really uncomfortable out in public. But I don't know if it's an excuse or if it's agoraphobia. She's really frustrated me because so much of what she does I don't know whether she's doing it on purpose or if it's part of her issues. The way she's acted towards us though is not ok. I have my health issues but I try not to encroach on others. She doesn't seem to care.

Galled - Well we were a bit fortunate because we didn't have to wait the full 30 days to evict them that squatter rights allow. The judge ruled that sense they were never tenets, never paid us, that they had to be out ASAP. It is still unfortunate though that we had to take it to court and had to pay for the eviction etc.

Your Eagle sounds like he has a very generous heart - I think he's a keeper! Give him some extra long hugs when he gets back and tell him what a great guy he is!

He is very caring while also coming off as an a-hole lol Definitely a keeper! He's been through so much with me. I know it's not easy having to support and take care of someone who is disabled.
He's back! He made great time on the way home. This ordeal has made us stronger as a couple. I appreciate him and my family so much more.

It's almost like it never even happened, and then we go into one of the two rooms they used. . .

The game room is getting there and the smell is almost gone. I want to move the table back and remove the rug to mop the floor because there's a sticky spot. Want to clean it all thoroughly. Not feeling well enough to clean today but I'm happy that with the progress we've made so far.

We have a problem with roaches. :/ Didn't the first year we moved in but then sometime between late 2016 and early this year we noticed some. Had to be from the neighbors to the left of us. We called Orkin and had it pretty well under control until the squatters came. . .
They also attracted mice but those are gone now.
