I've been in a Phantom of the Opera binge lately. Where I watch and listen to it multiple times....
To start, I'm talking the 2004 movie with Gerard Butler as the Phantom....
As much as I want to like Raoul, his dismissing of what Christine has to say when talking about the Phantom, it pisses me off. Like, Christine had lived in the Opera house for majority of her life. Raoul just arrived there. He knows nothing of the Phantom yet quickly says there's no such thing, especially after what happened during their performance of "Il Muto". Like, ya took his threats lightly, he followed through on his threats (the Phantom doesn't bluff), and you want to say there's no Phantom? Wtf man? Sure, he learns eventually he's real because Madame Giry tells him the truth of the Phantom, but to just brush off Christine's worries, leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
